Consistent error while computing the results for the model built

Sir..

I am working on a building model with pipes embedded in the ceiling for Concrete Core Cooling. I am getting a continuous error even after many corrections. The error says

Failed to find consistent initial values.
Last time step is not converged.

I have made the corrections suggested by you in the above comment. But still, the problem persists. I request you to have a look of the model in the link and help me out if you can find any errors rolled out.

Problem with Convergence

I was running my HT+NITF model for simulation. But, still I was not able to obtain the convergence. The progress of my simulation after 2 days of running is as follows (in the picture "Untitled.jpg).. Please let me know how to attain convergence... I am unable to make changes as I was being suggested each correction at each point of problem which is not working out perfectly. The log information at this stage is as follows... (Log data at 4.02 PM 19th feb.jpg).

Please help me out in getting a solution.

Segregated Solver, Segregated group

What is the meaning of "Segregated Solver" and "Segregated Group"?

While computing for the results, I am getting a line like follows... "Segregated Solver 17% Step 3" .
And the value beside Step in that line is varying between 1, 2 & 3.

Does the step in that line mean "time step"?
As i have a time step of 300 sec spanning from 0 sec to 86400 sec, total 288 step.
So, will need to go through 288 steps??

"comsol batch" crashed with Java errors

Hi,

I am trying to run a CFD model using the batch mode but crashed with some Java errors. The same model runs fine using the GUI (comsol client) and a Comsol Server.

OS: SLES 11
COMSOL version: 4.0a

The command I used:

comsol batch -inputfile in.mph -outputfile out.mph

The result:

I wish to try on "Pipe Flow Module" and for that I want an initial evaluation license. Can anyone help me out how to get it? The main problem is that I should try hands on that module and than ask my professor to get an original one. So, Is it possible??

Running the simulation for the required time span in more than one times (loops)

Dear sir,

My requirement is "Running the simulation for the required time span in more than one times (loops)".

I actually do not know the initial values of temperatures of the room that I am going to analyse on CFD. So, I wish to run it for more that one times (or you can say loops) so as to stabilise my results and compare them with the real world ones. Is it possible and how should I do it??

Fatal exception error occured

Suddenlly, my computer showed me this message when i tried to open Comsol Multiphysics 3.5a while it worked fine earlier. Comsol 4.2 has no problem in the same computer. Does anyone knows why?? and how to fix it (i already re-instal the 3.5a but no difference mentioned)

COMSOL License Error -15, 570

Dear COMSOL team,

We purchased a 64 bit COMSOL 4.3 verson of software along with a server license. After installing the software on a Linux (Debian 6 Squeeze) based system. We are encountring the following problem. When I start comsol it starts but generates an error in a window. After i close the error window COMSOL exits.


License Error: -15
Cannot connect to license sewrver system.
The license server manager (lmgrd) has not been started yet,
the wrong port@host or license file is being used, or the
port or hostname in the license file has been changed.
Feature: COMSOLGUI
Servername: xxxxxxxxxx
License path: /usr/local/comsol43/license/license.dat:

COMSOL 4.2a with MATLAB (COMSOL 3.5a compatibility) error

Hi, I'm trying to use COMSOL 4.2a with MATLAB (COMSOL 3.5a compatibility) and I obtained the following error:

Undefined variable "com" or class "com.femlab.jni.FlNativeUtil.ensureLibIsLoaded".
Error in initcomsol (line 105)
com.femlab.jni.FlNativeUtil.ensureLibIsLoaded();

And for example when I type fem.geom=circ2, this is the error:

Undefined variable "com" or class "com.femlab.util.Prop".

Can anybody help me?

Setting up solver loop for 2 physics.

Hi,

I have a problem that involves EM wave (frequency around 10^14 Hz) and mechanical movement (frequency 10^6 - 10^8 Hz). Basically the EM wave will give a force on the structure, and the force depends on the current movement/bending of the structure. However, because the frequency of EM wave is much higher than that of mechanical movement, it's ok to calculate the EM wave at each time step as if the mechanical structures are static in time.

Therefore, my plan is to have a time-dependent solver for solid mechanics, and for each time step, I calculate the EM part using RF module's frequency domain solver, with moving mesh (ALE) connecting the solid mechanics and EM parts. I then have an expression that will calculate force from EM field configuration and use it as the load in solid mechanics for the next time step.

My question is how do I set up the solver as described above. How can I have the frequency domain solver at each time step of the time-dependent solver?

Thank you in advanced. My version is 4.0. I wouldn't mind if I really have to use livelink to Matlab or something along that line.

[SOLVED] Comsol v4.3.0.233 crashes

Hi,

Today, after restarting my machine I opened several applications and I was logged out from my desktop session.

After checking one by one, I get to see it was comsol that was giving problems.
I've tested other Java based applications such as Matlab or Mathematica and don't had a problem.

Right now I have lots of applications opened without any problem, but I cannot open comsol v4.3.0.233 or I'll get logged out instantaneously.

Running scripts with Livelink v4.3.0.233 also crashes my session.
Creating, logging in and running comsol with a new user does not resolve the problem.

Comsol v4.2.0.150 seems to run fine.

Is it just me or there is somebody else who is getting logged out from session after running comsol v4.3.0.233?

Using:
Debian GNU/Linux 6.0
Kernel 2.6.32-5-amd64
gcc 4.4

Recently I had the IT department set up a single floating license of the Comsol Import Module for my university and I'm having difficulty accessing it. When trying to import .igs or .step files into Comsol I get an error message which reads:

"The program can't start because PSKERNEL.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
